If your life is a mix of calendar alerts, group chats, kids’ schedules, deadlines, and “Can you hop on a quick call?”—this one’s for you.

You know you need to move. You also know you don’t want:
A packed, sweaty class where you feel invisible
A lonely gym membership you never use
To risk injury trying to “keep up” with a room full of 20-year-olds who don’t have your responsibilities (or your knees 😅)
Somewhere between solo private sessions and big-box chaos, there’s a sweet spot.
That sweet spot is small group Pilates classes.
I’m Kenyele, founder of Kenetic Wellness here in downtown Birmingham, and I created our small group classes for people just like you—busy, thoughtful, high-responsibility humans who want intentional movement, not just more noise on the to-do list.
Let’s talk about why small group Pilates might be exactly what your body (and schedule) has been asking for.

What “Small Group” Actually Means at Kenetic Wellness
When I say small group, I don’t mean 18 people squeezed in, bumping into each other.
At Kenetic Wellness inside Pala Pilates, small group looks like:
A limited number of clients per class (think: you are seen, not lost)
Everyone on their own Reformer, with room to move and breathe
A quiet, grounded environment—not club lights and chaos
It’s big enough to feel like community, but small enough that I still know:
Your name
Your story
Your cranky shoulder or sensitive knee
Your “I carry stress right here” spots
So you’re not just “someone in the 6:30 class.” You’re you.

6 Signs Small Group Pilates Might Be Right for You
Let’s see if you see yourself in any of these…
1. You’re Busy, But You’re Done Ignoring Your Body
You’re carrying a lot:
Work, business, school or even all three (Go ‘head then!)
Family or caregiving responsibilities
Community, church, or leadership roles
You’ve been telling yourself, “I’ll get serious about my body when things slow down.”Newsflash hunny: things are not slowing down. 😅
Small group Pilates gives you:
A set appointment on your calendar
A full-body, joint-friendly workout in under an hour
Zero time wasted figuring out what to do—you just show up, and I’ve got the plan
2. You Want Personal Attention, But Private Sessions Aren’t Your Only Option
You love the idea of 1:1 attention, but you also:
Enjoy being around other people
Want a more budget-friendly option than weekly privates
Don’t mind sharing the room—as long as you’re not ignored
Small group Pilates is that in-between space where you get:
Real coaching and corrections
Individual modifications when needed
Encouragement from the group without losing the focus on your body
3. Large Fitness Classes Feel Overwhelming or… Just Not Your Vibe
Maybe you’ve tried:
Bootcamp-style classes
Packed mat Pilates or yoga
Loud, fast, high-intensity everything
And you walked out thinking:
“No one even noticed I was new.”
“I had no idea if I was doing anything correctly.”
“My body did not sign up for all that jumping.”
Small group Pilates is different:
You can see and hear the instructor
You get alternatives instead of pressure
The pace is focused, not frantic
We’re here to organize your body, not punish it.

4. You Like Community, But Not Performance
You don’t necessarily want to work out alone…You also don’t want to feel like you’re on stage.
In small group classes at Kenetic Wellness, you get:
Familiar faces over time (yes, you end up having “class friends” ask my 9:30am Tuesday crew)
A sense of “we’re in this together” without competition
A supportive environment where everyone is working on their own thing
We cheer for good form and improved mobility, not for how fast or flashy someone can move.
5. You Need Accountability You Actually Enjoy
Let’s be honest:
It’s easier to cancel on a treadmill than on people who expect to see you.
It’s easier to avoid the gym than to skip a class where the instructor knows your name.
Small group gives you built-in accountability:
Your spot is reserved
Your classmates notice when you’re missing
I know your goals and what it takes to reach them
We don’t just hope you show up, like the hotel staff in a 5 star resort, we expect you to
6. You Want Results Beyond “I Went to the Gym”
You’re not chasing a quick fix. You’re after:
Less pain
Better balance and posture
A stronger core and more stable joints
Ease in daily life—stairs, travel, lifting, playing, serving
Pilates shines here because it’s:
Low-impact → kind to your joints
High-intention → every move has a purpose
Progressive → we can scale up or down based on how you’re feeling
Small group classes give you all of that in a structured, sustainable way.

What a Small Group Class at Kenetic Wellness Actually Looks Like
Let’s pull back the curtain.
Before Class
You arrive at Pala Pilates in Downtown Birmingham, where Kenetic Wellness currently lives.
You’re greeted, not scanned and sent on your way
You can grab a warm or cool towel if you’d like
We check in on how you’re feeling that day (sleep, stress, any new aches)
During Class
On the equipment, you’ll move through:
A thoughtful warm-up to wake up your core and spine
A full body workout that hits every muscle.
Breathing and alignment cues so your body learns a new, healthier “normal”
I’ll:
Offer hands-on or verbal corrections (if you’re comfortable)
Give you options if something doesn’t feel right
Keep an eye on everyone so you always have support
The energy is:
Focused
Calm
Encouraging
Not rushed, not chaotic, not competitive.
After Class
You leave with:
A more organized body
A calmer nervous system
The satisfying feeling of, “I did something good for myself today—and it didn’t wreck my schedule.”
Over time, you’ll start to notice:
Little pain signals quieting down
Stronger, more supported movement
More trust in your body

“Are Small Group Classes Enough for Me?” (And Other Real Questions)
“Do I have to be ‘in shape’ already?”No. Small group is built to meet you where you are. We can modify, simplify, and build you up over time.
“What if I have an injury or old surgery?”As long as you’re cleared to exercise, we’ll talk through what’s going on and adjust accordingly. If you need more support, we might start with a private or two, then transition you into group.
“Will I be the only beginner?”Most classes are a mix of levels. Beginners are always welcome, and I’ll give you specific options so you never feel lost.
“How many times a week should I come?”
1x/week → awareness + maintenance
2x/week → noticeable strength, posture, and mobility changes
3x/week → more accelerated progress (depending on your schedule and goals)
